Sun-Sit
Description : Strolling through the streets of Ypsonas, one can observe a rich tapestry of spatial transitions that define the unique character of the area. The traditional elements, modern influences, and the fluid boundaries between public, semi-public, and private spaces create a village-like atmosphere filled with open spaces and familiar spatial moments. This organic diffusion of space sets the stage for our proposal for the SUN-SIT (Sun - flower) Museum of Marios Tokas.
The design concept for the SUN-SIT Museum embraces the blurring of boundaries between public and private, and indoor and outdoor spaces, achieved through continuous and subtle spatial transitions. The museum’s name draws inspiration from the symbolic use of the sun in Tokas' songs, such as "With a Sun" and "Red Sun." Furthermore, sunflowers play a pivotal role in the museum’s environmental approach, contributing to soil remediation and biodiversity enhancement. In addition to celebrating Tokas' radiant legacy, the architectural vision for SUN-LAND is conceived as a model of ecological management, addressing the challenges of climate change with innovative and sustainable practices
